For those who know me well, you know that I love all things BYU. Corey, a BYU Alumni you ask? Nah, just a wannabe! Several visits to the campus and countless football games growing up will do that to you. But I missed the part about doing well in school to be able to get into the Lords University. Haha! So I started an annual tradition of going to football games. One or two a year. Generally one trip to Provo and if they play UNLV in Vegas I will make it to that as well. My regular game buddy made plans to get tickets with his brother, so rather than go alone, I got hold of cousin Rachel who has just started her freshman year to go along with me. Plans were set! Sort of!
I must say that living in the desert does something to your body. I am freezing when it is below 55 degrees! Provo was COLD!! A stop in Richfield to see Grandma and Grandpa H would fix that! Gloves, warm coat, thermals and battery operated socks, (the socks remained in Grandpas hunting closet!) Grandma wanted to be sure that Rachel was warm and sent up a lovely stocking cap,(fuzzy white ball included, and gloves)! We love Grandma H for always taking care of her grandkids!!
How was the game you ask! Funny story! We never made it into the stadium! Uncle Ivan likes to make "family memories"! Is it called character building? After rescuing his "Rent-a-wreck" rental off the freeway, learning there are no rental car places in Provo, and a quick trip to Salt Lake for Uncle Ivan to catch a flight, well, I didn't have to sit in the stadium and freeze after all! I learned more about natural gas conversions than I ever thought possible! It was fun to visit with family that I do not get to see near enough. Good times!
